Shipping & Agent Tips for OOPBUY Users
Consolidation, customs, and timing strategies to get your finds faster and cheaper.
Understanding Consolidation
OOPBUY acts as a middleman warehouse. Sellers ship your items to the OOPBUY warehouse first, where they are inspected, photographed, and repacked into a single international shipment. Consolidation saves on shipping by combining multiple orders into one box, but it adds a few days to the timeline. This is the standard workflow for every item in the OOPBUY Spreadsheet.
We recommend waiting until all items arrive at the warehouse before submitting the international shipment. Partial shipments cost more per unit and increase the chance of customs issues. Use the warehouse holding period to inspect photos and reject damaged items before they leave China. QC photos are your safety net; do not skip reviewing them.
The holding period is usually free for a limited time, after which storage fees may apply. We recommend placing orders within a two-week window so everything arrives around the same time. If you are buying from multiple sellers, stagger your orders so the first items do not sit in the warehouse too long waiting for the last items.

Shipping Lines Compared
OOPBUY offers multiple carriers and lines, each with different speed, cost, and customs profiles. Standard postal lines are cheapest but slowest, often taking three to six weeks. Express lines cut that to one to two weeks but cost significantly more. Tax-included lines prepay customs duties, reducing surprise fees on delivery.
We generally recommend tax-included lines for high-value orders to avoid unexpected customs charges. For smaller orders, standard postal is economical if you are not in a hurry. OOPBUY updates estimated delivery windows in real time based on current transit conditions. Check these estimates before choosing your line, since holiday backlogs can double normal timelines.
Sea freight is an option for very large hauls that are not time-sensitive. It is the cheapest per kilogram but takes two to three months. We only recommend sea freight for bulk orders over ten kilograms where speed is irrelevant. For most users, air lines are the practical choice.
Budget Option
Lower price, acceptable materials, shorter lifespan. Best for trend pieces you plan to replace within a season.
Premium Option
Higher price, superior materials and construction. Best for staples you intend to wear frequently over multiple years.
Customs and Declarations
Accurate declaration values help customs process your package smoothly. OOPBUY typically declares at or below the order value, but you can request adjustments within reason. Under-declaring dramatically increases seizure risk in some countries, while over-declaring triggers unnecessary duties. We recommend staying close to the real value unless you have specific local knowledge.
We recommend researching your country's import threshold. Many regions allow duty-free entry under a specific value, which is useful to know when splitting large orders into multiple shipments. OOPBUY support can advise on optimal strategies for your destination. If your country's threshold is two hundred dollars, splitting a four-hundred-dollar haul into two boxes can save you significant fees.
Prohibited items vary by country. Some nations restrict counterfeit goods, while others focus on agricultural or medical products. We do not provide legal advice, but we encourage buyers to understand their local regulations before placing large orders. The OOPBUY Spreadsheet is a buying guide, not a customs consultant.
Timing Your Orders
Chinese New Year and Golden Week cause significant warehouse and shipping delays. Factories close for up to two weeks, and backlogs persist for another week after reopening. We post calendar reminders on our homepage before major holidays so you can plan purchases accordingly. If you order during a holiday, expect your items to sit in the domestic shipping pipeline for an extra week or more.
End-of-year shipping is also congested. November and December see heavy volume, pushing delivery estimates back by a week or more. If you need items by a specific date, order at least six weeks in advance during peak seasons. Black Friday and Singles Day sales create additional warehouse bottlenecks.
Spring is generally the smoothest ordering season. Factory production is back to full speed, shipping lines have normalized after the winter rush, and weather is less likely to cause transit delays. If you have flexibility in your ordering schedule, March through May is the ideal window for the fastest and most reliable delivery.
