Fabric Composition for Comfort
Underwear fabric determines comfort more than any other factor. Cotton is breathable and soft but loses shape after repeated washing. Modal is smoother and more resilient, with better drape. Bamboo blends are naturally antibacterial and moisture-wicking, making them ideal for hot climates. Our sheet lists the exact blend and notes the dominant feel.
Elastane percentage controls stretch and recovery. Five to ten percent elastane gives a snug fit without compression. Higher percentages can feel restrictive and trap heat. We flag compression-level stretch separately from comfort stretch. If you prefer a barely-there feel, look for entries with eight to twelve percent elastane in a modal or bamboo base.
For undershirts, the same fabric rules apply with one addition: opacity. A thin undershirt shows through a light dress shirt, which defeats the purpose. We note opacity level for white and light-colored undershirts. A 180 GSM cotton undershirt is usually opaque enough; below that, you risk visible nipples and tattoos.

Waistband and Leg Opening
A good waistband stays flat without rolling or digging. Fold-over elastic bands are common and effective when the elastic quality is high. We note waistband construction and report rolling issues when buyers mention them. Leg openings should grip gently without leaving marks; overly tight bands chafe, while loose bands ride up.
Seam placement matters for comfort. Flatlock seams reduce friction against skin. Center-back seams can irritate during long sitting periods. We describe seam type and placement when visible in product photos. For all-day office wear, flatlock seams on the inner thigh are a must.
The fly design is another comfort variable. A functional fly is convenient but adds seams that can rub. A faux fly is smoother but less practical. We note fly type for boxer brief entries so you can choose based on preference. Most users prefer a functional fly for daily wear and a faux fly for sleeping.
Sizing and Pack Value
